Some HU

I played a really fun HU session earlier at 3/6. Normally you get a ton of regulars sat at open tables and the fish come and join a random one. However, I took a look earlier and there was only one open table with a guy I had marked as a fish sitting - I'm so lucky! 400 hands and five buy-ins later and I'm even happier! Here are my favourite two hands from the session:

This was a fun hand.
I'd been 4-betting him quite often recently. I wasn't really that happy about stacking off with AK here 200BBs deep (although I probably would've), but I thought it was necessary to 4-bet for value as I thought he'd call quite a wide range. Ian pointed out that the turn and river coming this way was infinitely more satisfying than just dodging a Q/club!

Leading can rule.
I'd been leading into him fairly often for a couple of reasons. One, he was checking back quite a lot of flops and, two, he'd seen me lead a set into him very early in the match. I really like this lead because it makes it very hard for him to play a lot of hands. The exact hand he has is very difficult to play. If he raises and gets it in he's in terrible shape against my range, yet if he calls I have the initiative and he's probably going to have to make his flush.

I'm doing pretty well this month since I got back from Vegas. I definitely think I'm playing well, although there's still plenty of room for improvement. I'm hoping to make another $10k or so in the last 5/6 days of the month. I think if I put in 10-15k hands I can manage this. I'm definitely very motivated to play at the moment so this shouldn't be a problem.
